British Naval Personalities

Due to the large numbers of people involved in the British Navy during the period (over 300 captains in the first Anglo-Dutch war alone), no attempt will be made to include all naval officers, officials and shipbuilders in a single list. However it should be noted that some people will appear in more than one of the lists included below. E.g. Admirals will almost invariably also appear in the Captains list.

Below are links to the general breakdown of categories. Each category will provide a complete list, together with more specific breakdowns (e.g. all captains active during a particular conflict)
