The Dunkirk was originally ordered on 20th April 1745 to the 1745 establishment draught, but not proceeded upon. A new order was given in 1750 to a lengthened draught.

You're correct, the order history for this ships is confusing. I have added a note or two which should clarify things a touch.

Check ordered date. I have 15 Nov 1745 - David Lyon; 12 July 1750 - David Lyon, Brian Lavery. Rif Winfield has 10 Apr 1750 and 12 Jul 1750. There were multiple order dates. Bob Legge.
